HISTORY
Do you remember what it was like to walk into a shop and be greeted by name, offered the freshest produce, have your purchases wrapped in a paper bag and the door opened for you when you leave? Well Byron Bays' leading and longest running butcher, Trevor Mead Quality Meats, offers all that and more.
| The family owned business was opened in 1982 by Trevor & Chris Mead. They decided to move their business from Rose Bay in Sydney and bring their children, Graeme and Tanya, up out of the city. Trevor and Chris have become local Byron Bay identities. Trevor's laid back personality and Aussie humor and Chris's warmth ensured the business was a success from day one. | ![]() |
Graeme now joins his dad behind the counter operating the business along side him, bringing with him his experience in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and a stint of butchering in New York. Over the past 26 years the shop has moved to larger premises in Jonson Street, Byron Bay and now employs four butchers, an apprentice and a driver.
